Google simply explained that the update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites-sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high-quality sites-sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.

To check if your websites have been affected by Google Panda or not just do as below.
All you need to do is check your U.S. Google referral traffic for the week of February 20-27, and if you lost traffic that has not returned since, you were probably affected by the Big Panda.

  2. yeah, Google's intent was to stop rewarding bad SEO and content theives, but unfortunatly the only way to do that was to affect some good sites as well. Hopefully there are easy enough ways to reclaim the web visibility these sites once had. I guess just keep on publishing new unique content.

  3. A low quality website is considered by Google as being short of content or over-optimized. One of the main problems that webmasters had to face regarding this update is the lack of before-information.
